Bioshock 2 Awning

My last Bioshock Item…Not really finished with it or anything. These were just practice, learning how Max 2010 operates.

Does any one know how to create text in Max I know Maya had a text tool, where ytou could pick the font, and it created it. I need to look around…Later!

More 3DS Max Practice.

I do not feel I got as frustrated modeling these as I got on the Crossbow. The objects I modeled, were inspired from concept art of wall clutter. I plan on doing more that were on the page. The fountain I am not so crazy about. The drawings are out of my Bioshock 2 art book:)

Carts and Haystacks?

Doing a little practice. I know I want to add a grass texture to the grey floor, and maybe try some flowers or something? It is all practice practice practice either way! :)

ADDED: October 14th. I put some grass on the ground and totally reworked the cart. I may try some rocks and boulders and things like that to put around? I do not know. 1634 tri’s for the whole scene, and 1 1024×1024 color and normal maps.

Subway Scene?

I am going to update this entry as I add more and more to this scene. This is something I have been working on, and I add to it little by little. Practice, is what this amounts to. I duplicated the walls, and floor to make the scene a little bigger. Also quickly modeled some lights to see what kind of effect it would bring. I feel like I need to double the amount of those types of lights to get the place lit correctly. I may try the area lights instead? Here it is, current as of Sept 9th. (Sept 11th)I added the air ducts, and some bill boards. I will probably texture the billboards tomorrow, it is only 3:40 in the morning :)

Scrapped this and moving onto to something else. I do not like the direction this is going…Some of the textures seem off(like the columns look like the need to be in a tomb or something), I may keep some of the props and use them later though :)

Major Improvements!!

For some reason while I was reading and trolling the interwebs trying to learn about these mysterious “Next gen Maps” it kind of just made sense. This is what I just rendered out using mental ray. I do not remember all of the options, but I did get a diffuse map and normal on these models and they do not look like what I have done before. I have used bump maps and they looked atrocious! I feel good for the first time about my modeling, and to look at what I was putting out days ago is strange.
